Stephen started with NFA at the conception of the business as the Operations Manager (Dunedin) in June 2010. After two years as Operations Manager Stephen worked at NFA’s parent company, Dynes, in trucking logistics. Now he is back with NFA as Health and Safety and Compliance Manager. Stephen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him to NFA, before starting at NFA, he spent 20 years in the sawmilling and manufacturing industry (solid wood) in various hand-on roles and management positions.

Stephen is passionate about continuous improvement and helping people improve their skills through training and managed career pathways which can extend to their life goals in a sustainable way.

Stephen sees Health and Safety as an extension of improving business, as the importance of worker safety and well-being has been emphasised with the introduction of the HSWA 2015. He especially enjoys the compliance aspect of his role, as it helps to build better business infrastructure that can deliver the desired results at all levels, and has everyone returning home to their loved ones each night.
